The purpose of the Fun, Fit & Fabulous women's health conference is to advance healthy lifestyle changes by educating women to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

Over the past seven years, Highmark Blue Shield has helped more than 7,000 women have a greater hand in their health through the Fun, Fit & Fabulous conference.

The 2009 conference was held at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center in Hershey, Pa., on Saturday, August 29. It included a variety of workshops, speakers, fun exercises, demonstrations and health screenings for such things as cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, bone density and sickle cell anemia.

The 2009 Keynote Speaker Dr. Ian Smith

The 2009 keynote speaker was Dr. Ian Smith, author of The Fat Smash Diet and other books. He is a medical expert who appears on ABC and VH1 television programs. He also hosts a radio program and writes for various print publications. Learn more about Dr. Ian Smith.
